Cats

Lost and stray Animals
The City of Sand City does not have services to deal with lost and found animals. If you encounter a stray cat or dog, please call the County of Monterey Health Department Animal Control Program at (831) 384-1396.
Their address is 2840 Fifth Avenue, Marina. It is recommended that you call for directions to their facility (within old Fort Ord).
You can also call the SPCA of Monterey County at (831) 373-2631.
Public hours at the Animal Control Program are:
Monday through Friday 12:00 - 5:30 p.m.
Closed Sundays and holidays
A reminder: please be cautious if you encounter a stray animal,
particularly at night or while emptying the garbage. In the dark,
skunks can look like cats, and wolverines often pass for a dog.
